As a consequence, malicious activities targeted towards a single online service could hurt entire indus¬tries and multiple private and public organizations. This interdependence be¬tween online services and economic units is an imperative for targeted efforts ensuring the integrity and availability of individual systems and complex systems-of-systems alike. This article presents MonSys, a flexible, robust, and scalable monitoring platform, implement-ed as a cloud-based service and an on-premise solution, specifically de-signed to ad¬dress the need for ensuring service availability at an individual level. MonSys provides several standardized services availability checks, such as web-based services from multiple geographical locations, and a flexible platform and tools for defining customized complex services. Particular attention is paid to the processes of metrics collection, processing, storage, and querying. MonSys can perform custom availability checks for different types of infrastructures, such as various black-box, grey-box, and white-box availability checks/metrics. One important tool for this aim is the ECHO Early Warning System (E-EWS). The development of the E-EWS will be rooted in a comprehensive review of information sharing and trust models from within the cyber domain, as well as models from other domains. In 2009, the Commission adopted a Communication Towards the integration of maritime surveillance in the EU: “A common information sharing environment for the EU maritime domain (CISE),” setting out guiding principles towards its establishment. The aim of the COM(2010)584 final was to generate a situational awareness of activities at sea and impact overall maritime safety and security. As a outcome of COM(2010)584 final, the EUCISE2020 project has developed a test-bed for maritime information sharing. This case study analyses information sharing models in the maritime domain, the EUCISE2020 test bed and the CISE itself as an alternative for cyber information sharing system. In response, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) created the Information Awareness Office (IAO). IAO plans to develop technology that will allow understanding of the intent of these networks, their plans, and potentially define opportunities for disrupting or eliminating the threats. To effectively and efficiently carry this out, sharing, collaborating and reasoning shall be promoted to convert nebulous data to knowledge and actionable options. The &amp;lsquo;Total Information Awareness&amp;rsquo; is the main program of IAO aimed to &amp;ldquo;revolutionize the ability of the United States to detect, classify and identify foreign terrorists &amp;ndash; and decipher their plans &amp;ndash; and thereby enable the U.S. to take timely action to successfully preempt and defeat terrorist acts.&amp;rdquo; The program objective is to create a counter-terrorism information system that increases information coverage, provides focused warnings, automatically queue analysts based on partial pattern matches, supports collaboration, analytical reasoning and information sharing so that analysts can hypothesize, test and propose theories, and mitigating strategies about possible futures, so decision-makers can effectively evaluate the impact of current or future policies and prospective courses of action.&lt;/p&gt;</style></abstract></record></records></xml>
