Copyright and Licensing

I&S is an open access, peer-reviewed journal aiming to foster sharing and re-use of quality research in order to accelerate scientific discovery. In light of this, the assumption is that scholars who publish their research in the journal, wish their work to be available as freely and as widely as possible through the open access publishing channel. The publisher therefore uses a number of depositing, indexing, and archiving services.

Authors who publish with I&S will retain all intellectual property rights, including moral rights in their work. Articles and metadata will be licenced to the public under 

 Creative Commons 4.0 Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike International license (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

I&S allows readers to read, download, copy, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articlesReaders will be able to share, use, re-use and build upon the material published in the journal only as long as they give appropriate credit, use the material for non-commercial purposes only and only if the material is distributed under the same license as the original. You can find more information on Creative Commons at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/legalcode.

It is the responsibility of the author of the article to verify that the original license pertaining to the material included in the article is compatible with the subsequent issuance by the I&S of the article under the CC 4.0 BY-NC-SA license.

Any commercial use of the author’s work requires the permission of the author and any aspects of the work which are the property of I&S, if any, requires permission from I&S.
