Scientific Session "10 Years IT for Security"

On 22 December 2004, the Scientific Council of the Institute for Parallel Processing of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences decided to create a new department - "Research & Development of Information System" (RDIS). The first department head was Associate Professor Velizar Shalamanov, defence minister in Bulgaria's Caretaker Government, 6 August - 6 November 2014.

The "IT for Security" Department, now within the Institute of ICT, is the direct successor of RDIS since October 1, 2010. It is led by Prof. Todor Tagarev, defence minister in Bulgaria's Caretaker Government, 13 March - 28 May 2013.

To mark the 10th Anniversary of the creation of the department, we invite all our associates, partners, and would be collaborators to join our celebration and inform us on their current research, findings, and future plans. Of particular interest are your ideas on:

• Cybersecurity: Strategies, organizational arrangements, research capacity
• Development of cybersecurity capabilities
• Modeling and analysis for enhanced security.

Reports, provided in full text, will be published in our peer-reviewed series IT4Sec Reports. English language contributions will be considered also for inclusion in Information & Security: An International Journal.

Join us on 22 December 2014, at 14.30 h in Room 218, Institute of ICT, 2, Acad. G. Bonchev Str., Bl. 25-A, for the celebration of our 10th anniversary.
