In September 2014 successfully accomplished his PhD studies and defended his thesis on “Shaping Bulgaria’s Defence Policy (1990-2010).” Dr. Tagarev was his thesis adviser.
His professional and scientific interests are in the sphere of security and defence policy, defence planning, defence resource management and defence investment policy.

Georgi Tsvetkov started his professional career as an Assistant Professor at the Security and Defence Management Department in 2008, after graduating successfully “G.S.Rakovski” Defence and Staff College(link is external) with a Master’s Degree in National Security and Defence. In 2007 he graduated Sofia University(link is external) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Sciences.
